Israeli border restrictions and ongoing military conflict have limited the amount of aid able to get to Gaza — aid shipments in September reached their lowest level since the war began. Over 400,000 people remain in northern Gaza, where food is scarce, according to the World Food Programme, as humanitarian experts warn that northern Gaza is on the brink of famine.

According to the Health Ministry in the Gaza strip, more than half of the 44,000 Palestinians killed by Israel were women and children. Israel says it has killed over 17,000 militants, without providing evidence.

In April, the charity paused its aid work in Gaza after seven of its workers were killed by an Israeli strike. The organization came back to the region a few weeks later. Israel said the strike targeting the aid workers was a mistake.

The U.S.-based organization, founded by celebrity chef José Andrés and his wife Patricia in 2010, delivers food to people on the front lines of natural and humanitarian disasters.

No one from the charity had heard that anyone in the vehicle was linked to the Oct. 7 attack. World Central Kitchen said it is temporarily pausing operations in Gaza.

The World Central Kitchen said in a statement that it was “deeply sad” by the news of the strike and was looking for more information.

Humanitarian aid to the north have been sealed off by the army, as well as the refugee camp. Tens of thousands of people have fled, with the United Nations estimating as many as 75k remain.

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip — The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said Sunday it is halting aid deliveries through the main cargo crossing into Gaza because of the threat of armed gangs who have looted recent convoys.

The head of UNRWA in Gaza says that the Kerem Shalom crossing from Israel is too dangerous. In the month of November, gangs stole a little less than 100 trucks from the route, and in the weekend, armed men stole about one-third of them.

Eruptions in the Muwasi area and a demonstration of Israeli-Mexican-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen

The strike in the Muwasi area, a sprawling tent camp housing hundreds of thousands of displaced people, also wounded the children’s mother and their sibling, according to the nearby Nasser Hospital. A reporter saw the bodies.

In a separate development, a projectile fired by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen set off air raid sirens in central Israel. The Israeli military said it was able to stop the projectile from entering its territory.

The defense minister and a former general accused the government of ethnic cleansing in northern Gaza, where Israeli forces have been launching a series of assaults against Hamas.
